The star of this show is Joseph Murphy...

The direction is...sublime.

A mini rollercoaster ride...rather impressive for 7 minutes.

Let us tell you about the birds and the bees, and the flowers and the trees, and the…Monkeys and the Elephants? Our short film revolves around three characters: Orson, Greg, and Jane. The story follows Greg on his date with Jane as he recounts an awkward interaction with their gay friend, Orson. As the date progresses, Greg learns a little bit about pursuit, refusal, and “a thing called love.” "The Monkeys and the Elephants" is a short comedy exploring the nature of relationships, and the interplay between members of different genders and sexual orientations.

“The Monkeys and the Elephants” was shot over a muggy Chicago weekend in July 2014. Our talented team was made up of recent graduates from Loyola University Chicago, and graduate students from DePaul University. We had an incredibly motivated and passionate group of filmmakers and actors that worked tirelessly to make this film.

Our short film screened at the Chicago REEL Shorts Film Fest Friday, Oct. 10th in the 'That's Awkward!' program.

All of this was made possible through the generosity of family and friends, we raised 160% of our $700 goal on IndieGogo. Donations used for...
-Meals during three full days of principal photography
-Location props (Orson’s apartment)
-Wardrobe
-Transportation (for our film equipment)
