CGiii Comment

A very simple story and a very simple film - in that, it is easy on the senses.

No trickery, no complexity.

A few irrelevant scenes and, perhaps, some overwrought acting...but, the heart is in the right place.

Gless does well in her role - maybe the butch woman was a little overdone...with the dungarees'n'all.

We don't want to scream STEREOTYPE...but?!?

This film proves that a low-budget lesbian indie can be made with good production values, a story and fine performances.

And...the music is actually good - isn't that surprising for a lesbian indie?

Theatrically, it would have won its audience easily. The film struggles a little...but, it gets there in the end.

Well done.

The(ir) Blurb...

Hannah and Rachel grew up as little girls in the same small Midwest town, where traditional gender expectations eventually challenge their deep love for one another. Hannah becomes an adventurous, unapologetic lesbian and Rachel a strong but quiet homemaker. Weaving back and forth between past and present, the film reveals how the women maintained their love affair despite a marriage, a world war, infidelities, and family denial.
