CGiii Comment

Wrought for the short: No More We - with this, David Färdmar has stretched the initial idea to breaking point...and, that stretching is slow and painful. This is nothing but hard-work!

There are those who break-up and move on...their past paramour becomes mere history. Over and done with...next.

Then, there are those who cling onto that non-existent 'something'...fools, self-deceivers and, let's be honest, pitiful...especially, to watch.

Hold on, there's one more 'coping' mechanism that is as bamboozling as it is befuddling...they become friends! Happy little dinner parties with each other and their newly acquired partners. What fun!

Alas, there is absolutely no fun to be had with Are We Lost Forever - watching two grown men acting like complete buffoons...is too much of an ask...especially when neither of them are particularly likeable. One is pretty dim, the other...well, vile is a snug fit.

Weirdly, the could have worked as a comedy...because, the reality of the situation is an absolute farce. Some short films should remain...short!

The(ir) Blurb...

Painful breakups and loving meetings in an intimate relationship drama where each scene exudes sorrow, desperation and unrequited love.

Hampus and Adrian's relationship has gone down increasingly destructive paths and during one fateful discussion it all ends. Hampus and Adrian are no more, but in some way they have to go on living. A healing process divided into stages of desperate attempts to reunite as well as rebounds, which sometimes push them further apart and sometimes closer together. Göteborg native David Färdmar (We Could Be Parents, No More We) makes a feature film debut with a bitter-sweet portrayal of the painful time following the end of a long relationship and when life has to start over.
