Copenhagen International Film Festival (CPHPIX)

Copenhagen International Film Festival (CPHPIX)

CPH PIX is the biggest annual feature film festival in Denmark. Every year we offer all film lovers, regardless of age, a 14-day programme with more than 200 of the latest films from all over the world.

CPH PIX strives to give audiences the opportunity to sample some of the best, bravest and most eye-opening films with screenings and events for schools and families in the daytime and a lineup of alternative mainstream, edgy arthouse and genre films for adults in the afternoons, evenings and nights.

In 2016 CPH PIX merged with BUSTER Film Festival for Children and Youth to become one big festival for all ages. As a result, CPH PIX saw a record high total of 65,000 admissions during the festival in 2016.

More than film

Since the first edition of CPH PIX in 2009, we have succeeded in expanding the programme every year and adding an extra layer of pure festival experience to the regular screenings. During the 14 days festival period, we also present special on location events, film related concerts, artist talks, professional seminars and theatrical performances. While also focusing on new film talents and supporting talent development, every year a promising debuting filmmaker is awarded the New Talent Grand PIX and a cash prize of 10.000 euro.

While we have grown in size and audiences since 2009, our aim has remained the same throughout the years: that is to bring new and unreleased films to Danish cinemas and to screen both odd-balls of mainstream cinema and genre-bending niche films. But most of all, we simply exist to surprise audiences with movies, whether they are 6, 16 or 60.
