CGiii Comment

A big(gish) name in a little film...Ricci has to be commended.

A familiar tale...of race relations, poverty and a teacher who sets out to change the world. It is a little predictable and underdeveloped and, alas, somewhat trite in its philosophical meanderings - unnecessary to say the least.

With less of the soporific drivel and more grit - the result would have 10 times more effective.

A decent little film...sadly, lacking that a vital spark - consistent energy.

But, it does pack an emotional wallop and shows a mighty amount of promise...on behalf of the director.
