CGiii Comment

In a fascist underground dystopia, sexuality and gender subvert all conventions.

The insane story about the Ape Man on his odyssey through the torture garden of perversities continues: 2551.02 is the second part of a planned trilogy and picks up exactly where the first part left you craving for a sequel ( but don‘t worry: as with all good sequels, you don‘t have to have seen the previous film to be swept away by the second part).

There are no taboos in the grotesque underground universe of the 2551 saga, which crosses all boundaries, especially those of good taste. Pfaffenbichler and his congenial crew succeed in reviving the punk attitude of true independent cinema with no-budget inventiveness: In this crazy wonderland, everyone wears bizarre masks and society has retreated into an underground cave realm. No words are needed to express the pain of the nameless protagonist who traverses this benighted no man‘s land in search of a lost child.
