CGiii Comment

This crafted hybrid documentary film begins by following a Mor lam troupe, a traditional folk music group from Isan (northeastern Thailand). It then delves into the origins related to the Lao ethnic group, who were forced to migrate to Thailand as "slaves" and later became "victims" during the Cold War-era communist crackdown. Today, they are labeled "rebels" for advocating democracy. This is a forbidden history that remains untold in any Thai textbooks.
