CGiii Comment

What this film needed was several major re-writes, more improvisational rehearsal, followed by more re-writes...before the camera started to roll.

Good actors can [usually] get the best out of bad writing...sadly, with one exception, that's not the case here.

Saccharine-drenched clichés dribble all over the place...accompanied by gushes of trite sentimentality and non-pugnacious preaching.

What this film needed during filming was bite, fight and spit. The conflicts are nowhere near the war-zone they ought to have been...it's all so emphatically civilised. Where's the rage!?!

With only one strong performance in the entire film [by Steve Salt], the rest of the cast really ought to consider alternative careers.

It's a shame, there's a really good story here...it just needed better actors, a different script and a whole lot of rage.

The(ir) Blurb...

Tom and Joe have been together for years. And to some extent, have been together alone. You Are My Sunshine charts their humble beginnings in a world only just waking up to homosexuality, to present day, and a world facing their elder selves. As present day brings further conflict as well as the potential change in the air, Tom and Joe's story will be shown from its first monumental day all the way to its loving last.
