LGBTQ History Student Filmmaker Competition

LGBTQ History Student Filmmaker Competition

Address

  • San Diego, CA
  • USA

The LGBTQ History Student Filmmaker Competition is a juried short film competition for young filmmakers to create original, relevant, entertaining and accurate stories to document LGBTQ people, places, and events. The purpose of the LGBTQ History Student Filmmakers Competition is to expand understanding and awareness of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) contributions to society and to facilitate a California FAIR Education Act inspired initiative that rewards quality stories of LGBTQ luminaries and landmarks.

There are two divisions: Middle and High School Youth (ages 12-18) and College Students. Top winners receive cash awards and their films will be screened at the Children's International Film Festival at Comic-Con 2018.
