CGiii Comment

Love it or hate it - you can't ignore it.

With an all black cast (a few exceptions), a prominent gay character, great music and cameos by the bucketload - Car Wash certainly targets issues that were considered brave for the time.

However, under the dismal direction of Shultz (he went on to direct possibly one of the biggest flops in cinematic history, Sgt Pepper's...) the film becomes trivial - whitewashing over a script that could have thrown a few punches.

Still, it looks like the 70s and it sounds like the 70s.

So, if you like the 70s...

The(ir) Blurb...

Car Wash is about a close-knit group of employees who one day have all manner of strange visitors coming onto their forecourt, including Richard Pryor as a preaching 'wonder-man' who is loved by most but loathed by one, and a man who looks like a thief by the way he is holding his bottle, but it is really his urine sample as he is off to the hospital. T.C's love life takes a turn for the better and the songs keep coming.
