CGiii Comment

With the likes of American Beauty, Six Feet Under and, True Blood under his belt...when Alan Ball announces a project, people take notice.

When you have Holly Hunter and Tim Robbins starring...people take notice.

Expectations could not have run any higher...and then, the first episode dropped...like a bomb!

WTF!!!

This box-ticking, BAME-infused, politically correct hogwash has absolutely no idea what it is...is it a philosophical family drama? Is is a sci-fi-ish family drama? Is it a dippy-hippy family drama? Whatever it is...this is a family you will want to avoid like the plague. They are all ghastly people...stuffed full of issues, with barely a tissue of interest.

This is your quintessential 'Rainbow family' - they are the [over-controlling] Mom, the [philosophically-cheating] Dad...and the kids...the biological toxic-teen daughter with teen issues, the adopted gay-latino with [severe] mental health issues, the adopted black fashion guru with race issues, the adopted asian motivational [celibate] architect with life issues...

SPOILERS!!!

The gay one has hallucinations around the number 11:11, the teen loses her virginity wearing a horse-head mask to a male model and ends up bonking a gender-fluid muslim boy, the fashion guru becomes a millionaire and the celibate loses it! As for the parents...who cares?!?

There is a glimmer of light, one character is prima facie decent...but, he ends up dead and is outed as a purveyor of domestic abuse!!!

You couldn't make this poop up...but, Alan Ball did!!!A few bad days at the office!

After only 10 episodes, it got what it deserved: Cancelled.
