Loxoro

Country: Argentina, Language: Spanish, 19 mins

CGiii Comment

Most of it is filmed at night with insufficient lighting.

A dark, noisy mess of a film.

The(ir) Blurb...

Makuti, a middle aged single mother, is desperatly looking for her daughter Mía, who is only nighteen. Mía went out one night to work in the streets and never came back. Makuti erraticaly walks the city of Lima, descovering the lawless places where Mía would go. She searches streets and “cantinas” where she finds nothing but more questions.  Makuti and Mía are not your average mother and daughter . Both are transexuals women who use a slang created by the transexual community called “Loxoro” or “Húngaro”. Loxoro, is a journey that goes beyond barriers in order to reveal a world as marginated as it is unknown but at the same time, familiar.
