The relationship between two young men causes upset in a small Croatian village with a very traditional outlook on life.
Following his father’s death, Slaven returns to the the place he grew up, where locals live with the threat that swelling rivers could cause devastating floods. Slaven’s reunion with childhood friend Marko reignites old feelings that could also prove dangerous if not controlled. Undeniably sombre in tone, this tale of forbidden love also boasts moments of genuine tenderness and beauty, resulting in a hugely compelling, emotionally resonant piece of work.
