CGiii Comment

“CameraChild” was originally conceived by co-founder Ames Stevens to process their experiences as a closeted trans kid growing up in the internet era. The film is part-musical, part-YouTube diary, part-introspective character study and part-coming of age. It has as much in common with “The Truman Show” as it does “Inside”- if they were both made by a trans Casey Neistat. CameraChild is an entry in the emerging genre of “internet cinema” pioneered by trans filmmakers such as Jane Schoenbrun and Vera Drew.
