CGiii Comment

A 27 year old virgin, still living at home, is handed a slap of tough love...quickly followed by a tumescent grief.

William Spetz writes and acts [himself?]...the man-child perfectly. Somewhat aimless, totally goofy and a master at screwing everything up spectacularly...the sheer pace of the story delivers jolts as if you were falling of a cliff in a dream. Considering the subject matter, you would think this would be ripe for levity...no, no, no. There are moments of lightness but Tore straddles the shade with gay abandon. There are heart-in-mouth, scream-at-the-screen, edge-of-the-seat moments...and, there's poor MJ! Emotional exploitation has never been so bonkers...and just when you think that nothing else could possibly go wrong, it does.

What goes right...is everything you see on screen. It's just so immersive...and, kudos to the music department, for a soundtrack to die for. A truly emotional, sensorial rollercoaster ride.

The(ir) Blurb...

When 27-year-old Tore loses the most important person in his life in a garbage truck accident, he does everything he can to suppress his grief. During the days, he continues to work at his father's funeral home as if nothing has happened and starts flirting with the new florist Erik. At night, he establishes himself on a party boat in the city and experiences alcohol, sex and drugs for the first time. A new and beautiful, but risky, world suddenly opens up to Tore, but his best friend Linn and the colleagues at the funeral home quickly start to worry that Tore is about to lose his footing in his desperate attempts to escape reality.
