"A lover's heartfelt journey to be seen as more than just 'special friends' in the eyes of an immigrant father."
Our short film "MisUnderstood" is a heart-breaking love story. Our protagonist, Camilla is a bisexual Latina and is celebrating her one year anniversary with her girlfriend, Yui. However, their romantic time was cut short by Camilla's father, Roberto. Having an immigrant father that grew up religious and firm on his beliefs, has a difficult time understanding and accepting Camilla as bisexual. Yui, also referred to as the "special friend" by Camilla's dad, wants to see her girlfriend be happy. Which takes a turn for the worst.
