Mariela Castro's March

Country: USA, Language: Spanish, 40 mins

  • Director: Jon Alpert
  • Producer: Jon Alpert

CGiii Comment

The niece of Fidel, the daughter of Raoul...Mariela Castro is fighting and righting the wrongs of her uncle and father...

Having an advocate for equality with such a high-profile is inspiring...and, rare!

The film is too brief...but, as an introduction to Cuba's LGBT community with their histories and struggles...it does a decent job.

These stories really do need to be documented...!

Trailer...

The(ir) Blurb...

The film follows Mariela through the streets of Cuba through gay parades, galas and personal interviews with LGBT people about the social stigma they face in daily life.
