CGiii Comment

Heed the warning: Do not go into these woods! Or...you will probably get the knickers ripped off you...and/or, lose your life. Yes...this is a cruising-ground-in-the-back-of-beyond thriller!

Indeed, it's more a horror than a thriller...replete with some mangled plot twists, bogged down by endless [mostly] ridiculous dialogue. Do two grown men, running for their lives, have chatty little tête-à-têtes?!? It's not exactly 'thrilling' stuff!

When a 'thriller-cum-horror' relies on dialogue rather than creating a threatening atmosphere, problems inevitably arise - it's that [old] show don't tell kind-of-thing, something that Matthew Montgomery has not been able to grasp...if he had...then, Devil's Path may have worked a little better...but, when the Tarot comes into it...that really is when the baby is thrown out with the bathwater!
