Greek Pete

Country: UK, Language: English, 75 mins

  • Director: Andrew Haigh
  • Writer: Andrew Haigh
  • Producer: Andrew Haigh; Dmitri Vigneswaren

CGiii Comment

Unfortunately, Pete is not particularly attractive nor is he the brightest button in the box - perhaps, because he seems to be permanently out of his box.

Don't expect any pearls of wisdom, enlightenment or intelligence from either the cast or film-maker - because, there is none.

It is inconsistent - in fact - thereby blurring its authenticity.

Pete, himself, is a vacuous bore (as is most of his renting chums) - a disillusioned ego that perpetuates itself and renders the viewer numb (possibly with contempt).

Haigh has failed to deliver - he obviously couldn't make up his mind either to make a docu-drama or a straightforward narrative on the subject - due, mostly, to his choice of subjects - dullards each and all - without a cock they would simply be nothing.

And, nothing is what they will all amount to...if, the amount to anything at all.

The(ir) Blurb...

Fit, young and handsome Pete has the whole world at his feet. Like many other guys his age, he has a dream, and he's willing to pursue it. Pete arrives in London with the hope of increasing his business as an escort. When Pete meets London boy, Kai, a fellow escort on the scene, romance blossoms. But while Pete can easily separate his job from his love life, Kai has a harder time sharing his boyfriend with clients. Both men want different things from life but at what cost?
