Well, this won't be shown at the Vatican's Saturday morning matinee...
Yes, this insidious, impervious and unassailable institution is - quite rightly - exposed and pounded once again.
As with all these ecclesiatical stories, predictability is a common problem - they, generally, all end the same way...crumpled cassocks and broken boys...no justice. Fortunately, this Perfect Obedience offers something a little different..handsome priests and red herrings take you [slightly] off-guard.
Rather than doing an out-and-out priest-bashing (although they do get bashed) - this is about the grooming - so sinister...in that with careful execution you can evoke genuine consent, love, loyalty, trust and dependency...all in the name of God. Jesus H. Christ!
Whatever happened to: no man is above the law? Well, the Catholic church has been laughing at that fatuous statement for many, many years...enough!
Beautifully shot, powerfully played. A fine exhibition of these black-hearted blackguards.
