CGiii Comment

Bad hair (wigs), smoking unlit cigarettes and jaundiced make-up...perhaps, acceptable in the theatre...not on film.

A filmed play rarely works...this is no exception.

The bible-bashing anti-gay rhetoric is as threadbare as an old toupée...we've heard it all before and - no doubt - we will hear it again and again. Preaching to the converted isn't exactly the way to win a war!

However, there are moments of sheer delight - courtesy of Leslie Jordan. Unfortunately, those moments are too few.

As a stage show in a small theatre - yes. On the big screen - sorry, but no.
