CGiii Comment

Every high-school cliché is hauled out...well, surprise, surprise, every high-school student is a walking cliché...it says so in the film, so...it must be true.

Colfer writes and acts - think a medicated Gleeeeeeeeeeee - minus the mush and music - the intended audience being those growing Glee-philes.

Starting a film with the end is a risky business - here, that risk doesn't pay off. Cut the first scene - stitch it onto the end and this would have been a very different, powerful film - on the futility of life. Wow.

The(ir) Blurb...

A high school boy, desperate to escape the idiocy of the people in his hometown, tries to create a way in which he can move to New York, attend the college of his dreams and do something other than live in the footsteps of his drunken, divorced mother. Along the way he blackmails his fellow students into contributing to his literary magazine and discovers what it's like to feel accomplished. Does he get accepted into the college of his dreams? Is he going to make a difference and follow his life goal?
