It's pretty simple...if you are obsessed about fashion and celebrity as Andrew Bolton is...then, you are going to love this...
Otherwise...stay well clear!
Because...this is a vicarious life...it's that those-that-can't-teach kinda thing! Curation is a curious thing...those who do it, in all [creative] walks, become somewhat elevated into a realm of self-importance...when - in fact - it's the 'items' gathered that are important and their presentation...so, curators are presenters? No, they are producers...and, Andrew Bolton does a damn fine job at producing...not especially difficult considering the astronomical budget he has top play with...he does have vision, it's the artistic/design team who bring that vision to life.
This film shows the extraordinary amount of work [and money] that goes into an exhibition...you can argue that it is an elitist endeavour...but, when you get - in excess - of 600,000 people walking through the door that elitist claim seems to fritter away...
Unlike collectors...who own. Curators borrow...we all live on borrowed time, curators do it as a [well-paid] occupation.
Good work...if you can get it!
