This is deeply personal.

Farlinger achieves something very rare - a genuine tenderness.

This is near the end of a long list of AIDS films, most have been driven by a sentimentality that usually belittles the point in making the bloody film in the first place.

No such danger here - this feels heartfelt and, most importantly, it transfers to the audience - with diffidence.

Worthwhile.
