CGiii Comment

Small town America is terrifying, corrupt and homophobic.

This is fairly reminiscent of Sling Blade - the same tempo and temperament.

Thornton redoes his Monster's Ball role.

The pace is slow but manages to build an atmosphere of menace.

But...it doesn't have enough force to keep it compelling - your mind will start to wander.

Distinctly average.
