CGiii Comment

A series for the millennials...made by a middle-aged man.

Is Mr Araki out-of-touch...or, is he taking the proverbial? Whatever...Episode 1 yielded no discernible story...lots of sex though...but, no story!

Ripped bodies and chiseled faces are what these millennials are all about...and, sex.

Interesting to see how it pans out...more of the same...or, will it develop? The first episode ended with a rather eye-popping scene, definitely paving the way for extra-terrestrial perversion!

You'll either love it or hate it...we're sitting - precariously - on the fence, waiting for the story to appear...if, until then, we reserve judgment.

The(ir) Blurb...

Directors Steven Soderbergh and Gregg Araki, both known for daring, transgressive works, are teaming up for a new TV series titled Now Apocalypse.

The 10-episode show will be co-written by Doom Generation’s Araki and Slutever’s Karley Sciortino. It’s a surreal “coming-of-age comedy” that, according to a released synopsis: “explores identity, sexuality, and artistry, while navigating the strange and oftentimes bewildering city of Los Angeles”. It centres on four friends, with the lead named Ulysses. “Between sexual and romantic dating app adventures, Ulysses grows increasingly troubled as foreboding premonitory dreams make him wonder – is some kind of dark and monstrous conspiracy going on, or is he just smoking too much weed?”
