Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix 31 July 2020...we'll be watching!
A miserable, moping Ellen Page, a [ridiculously] fat-suited Tom Hopper, a man trapped inside a boy's body, a pill-popping gay hedonist, a knife-throwing non-entity, an other [whispering] non-entity, a ghost, Mary J. Blige as a hit[wo]man...and, a talking chimpanzee. Indeed, an eclectic bunch of characters...in a story that goes nowhere fast and ends up going nowhere at all! That's time-travel for ya!
Sense8 was a series that took a while to find its feet...but, when it did, it hit the ground running...and then, was - duly and inexplicably - cancelled. The Umbrella Academy is a poor man's Sense8 - in every sense of the word! Whether it finds its feet with Season 2 is neither here nor there...unless the 'creatives' behind it realise the obvious weaknesses and kill of the weaker characters...of course, keeping the chimapnzee [oops]!
Game of Thrones has kept its audience glued to their screens...why? Surprise! Remember when they had a bloodbath of terminated contracts!
That's what The Umbrella Academy needs surprise and/or the creative team behind Sense8 - then, perhaps, Season 2 will be worth watching!
They brought back Jon Snow...bring back the chimpanzee!

The(ir) Blurb...
On the same day in October 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his 'children' to save the world. But not everything went according to plan. In their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded. Now, the six surviving thirty-something members reunite upon the news of Hargreeves' passing. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya and Number Five work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father's death. But the estranged family once again begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.
