CGiii Comment

Not the brightest nor the most eloquent of subjects...

Not the brightest nor the most eloquent of documentaries...

Too much split screen, too much drug-talk, too much repetition, too much of everything that is not interesting...

And, let's face it...the only reason this documentary was made and the only reason why it will be watched: the Kurt Cobain footage.

A revelation...Grunge was all about fashion and that fashion came from the lesbians - so says the grungy lesbian, Phranc...this is as revelatory as it gets - not exactly worth crossing the road for...

Ebersole is not a documentarist - he is a shabby, amateur assembler of archival footage with an irritating penchant for tired, gimmicky effects.

The(ir) Blurb...

HIT SO HARD follows the journey of Patty Schemel, the openly gay drummer of Courtney Love's seminal rock band 'Hole.' As a young girl who always knew she was 'different' from the other kids in her farm town home outside of Seattle, Patty never dreamed she would one day have her picture on the cover of 'Rolling Stone.' But she also never fathomed that she could lose it all. A true survivor of what we now know was the disaffected 'slacker' generation, Patty found herself, like her friend Kurt Cobain, embraced by the dark side.
