So...what's the problem with The Good Wife's spin-off?
It's not The Good Wife!!!
Okay, let's be fair...lesbian visibility is [very] high on the agenda...and, gone are those sweet-talking, primped-and-crimped, high-ranking lawyers...replaced by some profanity-spouting, less-ranking, spit-and-sawdust types who still occupy luxurious offices and own vineyards!
And, unfortunately, they really are not that interesting...that is until about episode 5, when a few familiar faces start popping in...namely Carrie Preston, Matthew Perry, Sarah Steele and James Cameron Mitchell - who is utterly hysterical. They should all be regulars!
Christine Baranski certainly can hold her own...but, she really does need a fine ensemble to really shine...
A rocky start...but, it does find its footing, eventually. Grittier than the Wife, it could be even more so...and, that would give it a stamp of authenticity - terribly difficult to do with a spin-off. The potential is there...just weed out the weaker characters!
