CGiii Comment

An ill-mannered, pill-popping, dope-smoking, cigarette-puffing, alcohol-drinking competitive swimmer with a high-maintenance girlfriend...secretly, likes the boys.

Pity, we don't like him.

Nor the girlfriend. Nor the mothers...basically, all the characters are vile - bar one...the other boy.

The writing is sparse and naive...both mothers are inappropriate and implausible...treating their grown-ups sons as if they both have just lost their milk teeth.

Technically, it's pretty good - especially the underwater sequences...but, there are too many superfluous scenes...slowing the film down to a snail's pace...and then, the end - it comes out of nowhere...abrupt, pessimistic...questioning and questionable.

Too immature. Too unsatisfying.
