To an Unknown God

Country: Spain, Language: Spanish, 104 mins

Original Title

A Un Dios Desconocido
  • Director: Jaime Chávarri
  • Writer: Jaime Chávarri; Elías Querejeta

CGiii Comment

Definitely daring for its [political] time...but, alas, it's not the easiest film to follow...nor is it terribly involving.

Slow-paced and rather lifeless...the inclusion of the poetry and the variety acts are questionable...neither do anything to move this static story forward.

Only for those interested in Spanish cinema as it emerged from the dark dark days of Franco's dictatorship.
