CGiii Comment

A hugely disappointing adaptation - possibly, not-that-bad if you know nothing about the book.

The lesbian storyline is merely hinted at...playing it safe.

The pace of the film is at fault - it's sporadic and disjointed.

Spielberg went all out for the Oscar and failed...simply because, this film is not good enough - although the story is.

Clumsy direction and a sterile script - a crime against Alice Walker's book has been committed.
