CGiii Comment

Now, the book was a wonder...and it was always going to be an uphill struggle adapting such an impressive tome.

The result is a sweet film - although it does skirt over some of the more interesting details the book supplied.

Most will be disappointed...but, it offers entertainment and some bloody good performances - Lithgow especially.

The(ir) Blurb...

Based on the John Irving novel, this film chronicles the life of T S Garp, and his mother, Jenny. Whilst Garp sees himself as a "serious" writer, Jenny writes a feminist manifesto at an opportune time, and finds herself as a magnet for all manner of distressed women.
