Queer Film Festival: Playa del Carmen
Thursday, 05 November 2026 until Thursday, 12 November 2026
The objective of this QF Festival is to provide a space for the exhibition of quality cinema while supporting productions whose central themes are sexual diversity and the defense of the human rights of the LGBT + community. At the same time this event creates a meeting place for all those involved in the production of this type of cinema, as well as for people who wish to do the same in the future or are interested in the aforementioned subjects. This festival opens the doors so that both people involved in the creative process and those interested in it can share their experiences and join forces by screening films and exchanging ideas and experiences, regardless of their country of origin.

Short films in cinema, video or digital format, of both Mexican and foreign directors may participate. Your finished production may not be before September 1, 2021 and must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes (including credits). A 31-minute-long film will be counted as a length film.

Feature films and series in film, video or digital format, both Mexican and foreign directors which have not been distributed in the cinemas of the country may participate. Your finished production may not be before September 1, 2022 and must have a minimum duration of 30 minutes and a maximum of 160 (including credits). The Series must be united in a single projection.
