Divergenti

After a two-year break, the tenth edition of Divergenti, the international film festival dedicated to trans imaginary, returns to Bologna from 26 to 28 November. Three intense days of cinema, meetings, conferences and moments of conviviality, in order to promote knowledge of the transsexual / transgender issue in its various forms, countering barriers and prejudices and stimulating a different narrative that goes beyond stereotypes.

Conceived and organized by MIT - Movimento Identità Trans, the kermesse this year offers a selection of the best trans-themed production to open up alternative narratives to the dominant ones: 11 films, including documentaries and fiction, two conferences (on zoom) dedicated respectively to archives of trans history and trans migration between activism, hospitality and research: all in an online and free version on docasa.it 

In addition to the international competition for films and documentaries, the 2020 edition will host a new and significant section, that of Vlogs, video blogs, essentially stories, in the form of a blog or diary, consisting of video clips. Two quality juries made up of film experts and critics will award the prizes for each section.

Divergenti, Festival Internazionale di Cinema Trans, è il primo e unico festival cinematografico in Italia dedicato specificamente al tema del transessualismo/ transgenderismo e identità di genere. Un evento ideato e realizzato dal M.I.T. Movimento-Identità-Trans, associazione ONLUS impegnata nella difesa e tutela dei diritti, del benessere e della dignità delle persone trans* fin dal 1981.
