JULIÁN HERNÁNDEZ CYCLE
In 2026, the Berlinale Teddy Award celebrated four decades of recognizing the highlights of LGBTQ+ cinema internationally. As part of this commemoration, the award organized a special cycle with some of the works that have marked its history, including THOUSAND CLOUDS OF PEACE CLOSE TO THE SKY, LOVE, YOU WILL NEVER JUST BE LOVE (2004), one of the fundamental films of contemporary Mexican cinema. On the occasion of this celebration, Roberto Fiesco and Julian Hernandez promoted the remastering of the film, providing the opportunity to meet her again in the best exhibition conditions. The MIX Mexico Festival joins this tribute with a special projection on the big screen, accompanied by a selection of short films directed by Julian Hernandez. The filmmaker will be present to participate in a conversation with the public around his work and career.
25 YEARS AFTER TREMBLING BEFORE GOD
Twenty-five years after his first visit to the MIX Mexico Festival, filmmaker Sandi DuBowski returns to present his latest documentary, SABBATH QUEEN. For this reason, the festival has decided to recover the work that was presented with great success at the festival.
