Premio Maguey

Premio Maguey is an award bestowed to movies that support, encourage and promote innovative cinema with stories around an open sexuality and queer subject matters. In its five years, Premio Maguey has established itself as one of the most important competition selections within the Guadalajara International Film Festival, with an international roaster which makes it the only one of its kind in Latin America.



11th Edition Maguey Award


(GUADALAJARA, JALISCO JUNE 20, 2022) On the night of June 18, at the closing ceremony, the winners of LGBTQ+ cinema were announced, each of the winners posing with their EME.


Maguey Award for Best Performance to the entire ensemble of actors of "Beautiful Beings", Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson (Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Czech Republic)


Maguey Jury Award for "Camila will come out tonight", Inés Barrionuevo (Argentina)


Maguey Award for Best Film for "Mi Vacío y yo" by Adrián Silvestre (Spain)
