USN – Sardinia Queer Film Expo
USN Expo
USN – Sardinia Queer Film Expo 2024 is a short movies contest addressed to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer themed works, both released and unreleased ones. Contents can be artistically performed in all its possible meanings, interpretations and realities.
USN|Expo is fostered by ARC OdV, a cultural association from Cagliari, by ARCinema, a member of the Italian Federation of Cinema Societies, and by Students’ Association universitARC.
USN|Expo is born to promote LGBTQIA+ cinema, literature, and culture, on a local, national, and international level The organising Associations aim to raise awareness in society on sexual and romantic orientation, gender identity and on the need of equality in terms of civil rights, thanks to the universal language of art. In addition, through the Festival the Associations aim to enhance and promote young and independent movie productions, especially small ones, that are connected to queer culture; to promote dialogue and cultural exchange among productions of different countries; to offer the region of Sardinia and the city of Cagliari an opportunity to learn more about this still unknown movie niche.
The competition is exclusively dedicated to short films concerning LGBTQIA+ topics, that last no more than 25 minutes (opening and closing credits included).
Works of any genre and production will be accepted: documentary, fiction, classic and/or digital animation, videoclips, videoart.
