Norfolk Queer International Film Festival
Norfolk Queer International Film Festival exists to platform and promote queer film and moving image. From the mainstream, to the experimental to the Avant Garde, NQIFF is an unabashedly queer space for artistic expression that challenges dominant parameters, paradigms, and practices. Our vision is to create a festival that celebrates the diversity and inclusivity of queerness, and the landscape we as a people are actualising within.
We are excited to be seeking submissions for our inaugural festival in March 2024 and we welcome projects ranging from under 1 minute to feature length and from no-budget to large-scale, studio productions from any location. We are particularly keen to champion innovative perspectives and practices, provocative and reflective pieces, marginalised voices and communities and works that broaden horizons and offer new and creative forms of expression.
Thematically, we are looking for works that embrace queerness, it's community and/or ethos. We are not here to police queerness and accept all self-definitions if made in good spirit and with heart. The work itself can be of any topic and form, we simply ask that you follow the submission guidelines regarding time limits when applying. Any questions can be directed to our instagram or email address.
All prizes are TBC, subject to sponsorship and submission volume. Awards sit across and through the submission categories, with films being considered within the context of each award on their own merit, time exclusions excepted. Awards will be given for the following:
