CGiii Comment

In the Italian region of Calabria after World War II, where time stands still, two solitary people meet: Marta, a teenage mother whose husband died during the war, now doomed to be forced into another marriage, and Lorenzo, the homosexual warden of the local church. These are two emancipation stories, where the bond between the two characters is as strong as their wish for freedom and for revenge on their oppressors’ prejudices and rules.
