Fargo-Moorhead LGBT Film Festival
The Fargo-Moorhead LGBT Film Festival seeks to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender lived experiences through the visions of innovative film and video makers. We seek films and videos that enrich, entertain, and encourage a sense of community. This festival hopes to recognize the diversity of local, regional, national, and international LGBT communities.
Since 2009 the Fargo-Moorhead LGBT Film Festival has provided a much-needed source of insight and entertainment, through the eyes of queer filmmakers. From documentaries to romantic comedies the film festival provides a wide range of film exposure opportunities for our viewers.
Each year, a representative jury views a wide range of submissions to bring you the most thought-provoking, entertaining, and pivotal films.
The FMLGBT Film Festival takes place annually at the historic Fargo Theatre in downtown Fargo. An online component has been added to allow these important films to be seen in rural parts of the state that do not traditionally have access to the festival.
Each category within the festival will host a juried competition for "Best of...". Additionally, an executive committee will award a "Best of Show" award annually to recognize work with high artistic and informational value. Additional awards may be given within each category at the judgment of the jury (i.e. best cinematographer, editing, sound, etc.).
Award-winning filmmakers will receive a physical award and a small stipend to help with travel to the festival.
Filmmakers who have their films selected for the festival will receive an admissions package to the festival.

Now the girls must combine their skills for their most important mission: to capture vexing vixen Lucy Diamond, the deadliest criminal the world has ever known. When D.E.B.S. star player Amy falls for Lucy, chaos erupts and the D.E.B.S.’ loyalty is put to the test.
To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar
Directed by Beeban Kidron 1995 USA 109min
After jointly winning a local Drag Queen pageant in New York City, Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes) and Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze) win the right and are given the round trip airfare to compete in the Drag Queen of America pageant in Hollywood, California. Noxeema sees herself as the next Dorothy Dandridge, who bucked the trend of most black American movie actresses of her time by never playing the slave house maid. Vida’s style reflects her past of growing up in upper class suburban Pennsylvania. One of their fellow New York City contestants, Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Leguizamo), is a straight-talking, but naive and inexperienced Drag Queen. Seeing that Chi-Chi needs some Drag Queen confidence (despite her bravada), Vida and a reluctant Noxeema decide to cash in their plane tickets and buy an older model Cadillac convertible and drive to Hollywood with Chi-Chi. Their drive takes them through much of the country where alternate lifestyles are less tolerated than they may be in New York City or Los Angeles. The three have an extended stay in small town Snydersville, where their car breaks down. If they ever make it out of Snydersville, they may be the better for their stay by learning more about themselves while dealing with the issues of town residents and spending more time together. Their stay is made even more precarious when they find out that Sheriff Dollard (Chris Penn), a homophobic, racist, and sexist highway Sheriff with whom they had an earlier encounter, is on their tail.

Big Eden
directed by Thomas Bezucha 2000 118 min USA
Big Eden is a tiny fictional town in northwestern Montana, as Preston Sturges or Frank Capra might have envisioned it. Timber and Cowboy country. This is the story of Henry Hart, a successful New York Artist, who returns to the town of his childhood to care for the ailing grandfather who raised him. Back in Big Eden, Henry must come to terms with his relationship to Dean Stewart, his best friend from high School, as well as the object of his unrequited love. All these years Henry has been pining for a dream image of Dean from back then. This is also the story of Pike Dexter, the shy, unassuming Native American owner of the town’s general store, who is as surprised as anyone to find himself falling in love with Henry. The people of Big Eden conspire and attempt to bring Henry and Pike together.
