CGiii Comment

Porn actors make a movie...they certainly managed to create a gushing stream of controversy - with bannings here, there and everywhere.

It is low-budget, the acting is, in most cases, terrible (there is an obvious exception).

The direction and editing are amateur, the soundtrack is excruciating - just like a porn movie.

But...it does improve as it goes on - in every way.

The violence is extreme and unnerving, the sex is pragmatically animal and just as unnerving.

It may be argued that this is a film about a 'low-life' made by a 'low-life' and, if that is the case, then, it is a vision of a moral-less and pessimistic filth - harsh words indeed...but, it does make the skin crawl with microscopic vermin.

Take a deep breath - this is a film by women about women and it's not pretty, visually or audibly - the hate and anger are distinctly brutal.

These are not good girls gone bad - but, bad girls surviving.

It's all about being a victim - regardless of class, wealth, education - it's a matter how everyone chooses to survive.

Polite women will find it offensive. Men will be threatened by it - the exploitation on show - turns the table. And, this is pivotal - women as the sexual predators make men uncomfortable hence the multiple bannings...by men, no doubt.

As to whether this is suitable viewing or not...LET PEOPLE MAKE THEIR OWN MINDS UP...not the censors!

An astonishing piece of work. Challenging to say the least!

The(ir) Blurb...

Manu and Nadine lose their last tenuous relationship with main-stream society when Manu gets raped and Nadine sees her only friend being shot. After a chance encounter, they embark on an explosive journey of sex and murder. Perhaps as a revenge against men, perhaps as a revolt against bourgeois society, but certainly in a negation - almost joyful in its senseless violence - of all the codes of a society which has excluded, raped and humiliated them. Controversial for its violence and real sex scenes: a vividly nihilist road movie set in France.
