CGiii Comment

The city of Barcelona has always been a benchmark in the conquest of LGTBIQ+ rights and has opened the way for the rest of the territories in Spain. With this idea as a starting point, the documentary Barcelona out of the closet has been recorded, which aims to publicize the different goals of the LGTBIQ + movement in Barcelona and its evolution over the years. The film collects the different milestones that have marked the LGTBIQ + movement, such as the creation of the first association in the country, the Spanish Homosexual Liberation Movement (MEHL), or the first demonstration in favor of gay rights in 1977, which was held on the Rambla in Barcelona. It also shows the creation of the different entities that have been born over the years and have become references in Barcelona, such as the Gay Liberation Front of Catalonia, the Casal Lambda, the Observatory against Homophobia, LGTBI Families, Gaylespol, the LGTBI Municipal Center or Trànsit, a public service of accompaniment to transgender people.
