During the football tournament, the Gothia Cup 1999, South African Tshepo, from an Alexandra shanty town outside Johannesburg meets up with Mike, a Swedish teenager from Gothenburg. When they meet again six years later, Tshepos very promising football career has long been brutally interrupted by an injury. Mike has shifted from football to a criminal career in the form of charity frauds.

Tshepo tries to get a football team, as he trains, to participate in the Gothia Cup and the guys decide to cooperate in both projects. Mike’s plan is to sell the medicine, which he received from a Swedish pharmaceutical company, through his false organization AIDS Action Africa. But the medicine attracts many more stakeholders and it becomes more dangerous to themselves in the Alexandra shanty town than they could have imagined. Suddenly Fox and Tshepo end up in the middle of a web of drug dealers, fraudsters, murderers and police officers, and their friendship is put to the test.
