Nicole, a lawyer from the provinces, makes her three lovers believe that she is pregnant. After she has taken the money for an abortion, she abandons her career and decides to leave for Paris. Housed in a shabby hotel, she invents a new identity and disguises herself as a man. This game brings her some success with women, especially Myriam, a prostitute whom she befriends.
