The(ir) Blurb...

Love starts out on a journey of two girls falling in love and coming to terms with their sexuality. Q a fun, grunge skater girl stumbles upon a garden and takes notice of the gardener Love. The two of them share an electric connection and start a forbidden romance. However Love grapples with her sexuality and extremely religious parents. As the days go by the two girls work in the garden and get to know each other more and more while carelessly flirting until they share a kiss. Love realizes that this fun flirtatious friendship means more than she expected and becomes scared for what is to come. As she battles through her feelings regarding their connection Q never loses sight of hope that Love will... choose love. The film centers around the idea of Love's name as it is a pivotal plot point. In the end the two decide their connection is worth fighting for and love is more powerful than any force keeping them apart.

The film will have references to different queer media's such as Hailey Kiokos music video Girls like Girls and the movie But I'm a Cheerleader by Jamie Babbitt. It will have a soft indie aesthetic with long shots and slow pauses to almost create a sense of un-comfort and realism taking you outside of the movie world and into the film itself. The short will be set in real time 2022 however have a more experimental look with film grain and other thematic elements that add to the indie romance that we see in so many cis-het romance movies.
