CGiii Comment

This 3 hour marathon will exhaust you - difficult, harrowing viewing.

Set primarily in the orphanage - and, then the fallout 15 years later.

What this film manages to do is to highlight human ignorance, irresponsibility and the all-accepting acceptance of insipid institutions (church and governmental alike).

It courts controversy, the paedophile is given some explanation...but, Smith does state that the passing of time should not diminish the crime - quite rightly.

A very brave and remarkable accomplishment for its time.

The(ir) Blurb...

This movie is based on actual events, but it says it is not all about one specific incident. It documents St. Vincent's Orphanage in Canada, where many of the boys suffer physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at the hands of the brothers who run the facility. When the stories are surfaced and a police investigation is begun, religious and political groups work to silence the story to keep it from reaching the public.
