THE MARIONETTES. Given the current political and social climate following the passage of Prop 9 in California, we feel our project would be an ideal fit for your upcoming festival. For THE MARIONETTES, director Matthew Mishory and artist Samuel Perone teamed up to deliver a highly creative artistic response to the right-wing contention that marriage equality harms children. The film uses striking marionettes, ornate miniatures, and painterly lighting to tell the story of a little girl's puppet show and a fantasy world where objects come to life and parental disapproval casts an unseemly pall.
