When Daniel decides it's time to move on, naturally Jacob follows suit - against his better judgment. They both decide to break their big news to their respective families - the reactions of which are not only different but life-changing. Daniel can't believe his luck - his family is tight knit and understand one another. Additionally, his mum Dorothy quickly finds an appropriate way of breaking the news to her close network of friends. For Jacob however, it's a different story.
A family who co-exist on the face of it, where communication and support for each other has always been difficult - nothing more than skin deep. Jacob's parents have no idea what to do with the news and end up internalizing it. By a stroke of bad judgment, Jacob's mum, Josephine changes the course of their family life - something she comes to regret soon after. The realization hits her - with friends in strange places. Through a stoke of good gossip, Daniel comes to realize to all intents and purposes he has been living very close to the love of his life. He hadn't realized how deep the feelings had run - until he is forced to reflect on it by Jacob's 8 year old sister, Sally. Jacob has no option other than to remove himself from the situation, is this where his life is really to begin? With everything out in the open, perspective prevails, though nothing is as it was earlier that day - life's journey has changed.
