CGiii Comment
Seriously, they don't come much worse than this...
Obviously, written by two silly little boys with no idea about adulthood or parenthood - it's a wonder that this worn-out premise got read in the first place...far less, the green-light! Well, Seth Rogen is one of the many producers...that explains it! There is a saying about too many cooks and a pot of broth...here, too many producers and not one could recognise a decent script...even if it had been written by a Nobel Laureate...with 'Oscar' stamped all over it!
What makes matters worse: The budget! This cost an estimated $21,000,000!!! What did they spend the money on?!? Not the writing...nor, the cast! For this drivel should end quite a few careers...most notably, John Cena's...he may be able to wrestle - but, every scene he partook in was like an offering to the God of Cringe!
Why the male frontal nudity?!? Gary Cole, whatever you were thinking when you signed up for this must have been reflected in the paycheck! Aaah, so that's where the money went...quite possibly the most expensive dick-shot until the next dick comes along.
To end on a positive note, Blockers is not only an inspirational piece of writing...but, an aspirational one too! For all those down-&-leaving, would-be-but-won't-be, constantly-rejected writers...take heart, if this garbage can be made into a multi-million dollar movie...then, any piece of garbage can! Call Seth Rogen - he's skipping and hopping and dancing...all the way to the bank!
Worldwide, the film grossed : $93,657,703.
